Ingredients

300 grams of basmati rice

1 tablespoon of salt

10 cups of water

850 grams of chicken

5 tablespoons of butter

2 peeled and chopped onions

3 garlic cloves

1 tablespoon of grated ginger

3 chopped green chiles

6 tablespoons of biryani spices

2 tablespoons of salt

150 milliliters of yogurt

2 chopped tomatoes

1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro

1 lemon wedges

1 saffron threads

1 teaspoon of butter

Preparation

Step 1 : In a skillet, heat the butter and fry the onions until golden.

Step 2 : Then, add the ginger, garlic, and spices, cooking for 2 minutes and stirring.

Step 3 : Add the chicken, salt, and chopped chiles, stirring and cooking until the chicken is ready.

Step 4 : Next, incorporate the yogurt, tomatoes, cilantro, and lemon, stirring and cooking for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 5 : Meanwhile, cook the rice in boiling water, drain, and place it in a greased oven tray.

Step 6 : Add alternating layers of rice and chicken in the tray, sprinkling saffron on top.

Step 7 : Add the onion sofrito over the top and bake at medium temperature for half an hour.

Step 8 : Once finished baking, remove from the oven, cut into portions, and serve.
