The red lentils are washed and soaked in water for several hours.
Then, they are cooked in a pot with boiling water along with the turmeric.
The tomatoes are peeled, then cooked for a few additional minutes.
In a hot skillet, the oil is mixed with cumin and cooked for a few seconds.
The oil from the skillet is poured over the ready soup.
Finally, serve in deep plates garnished with finely chopped cilantro to taste.
Masoor Dal
Ingredients
100 grams of red lentils
750 milliliters of Water
1 teaspoon of Ground turmeric
1 teaspoon of Ground cumin
2 tomatoes
1 cup of Finely chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of salt
Preparation
Step 1 : The red lentils are washed and soaked in water for 2 or 3 hours.
Step 2 : Then, they are cooked in a pot with boiling water along with the turmeric for 15 minutes.
Step 3 : The tomatoes are peeled, chopped, and cooked for an additional 5 minutes.
Step 4 : In a hot skillet, mix the oil with cumin and cook for 10 seconds.
Step 5 : Pour the skillet oil over the prepared soup.
Step 6 : Finally, serve in deep plates garnished with finely chopped cilantro to taste.
